Age: 25 Neck Liposuction
This is a 25 year old female who didn’t like the appearance of her neck. On her pre-operative photos you can see blunting of her neck angle and some fullness under her chin. I explained the alternative treatments, including liposuction alone and an open anterior neck lift. Liposuction only contours the fat above the neck muscle, whereas with the open approach (small incision beneath the chin) the fat below the muscle can be contoured. This can often be a very significant amount of fat, and if adequately treated, can enhance the outcome tremendously, providing for a sharp neck angle and a flat submandibular area. She is seen here three weeks after her procedure. She also happened to lose ten pounds and change her hairstyle. This tells me that this improvement in her neck has changed her in many positive ways.
Age: 34 Neck Liposuction
This woman had liposuction performed on her neck and under her chin.
Age: 61 Full Face and Neck Lift, TCA Chemical Peel of Cheeks
This is a 61 year old female who had previous upper face work performed elsewhere (brow lift and blepharoplasty) and who presented to me for a face and neck lift. She had some loose skin on her neck, fullness beneath her chin, and wrinkling of the cheek skin and jowls.
She is seen here one year after a full face and neck lift, as well as a TCA chemical peel of her cheeks. You can clearly see the overall natural improvement. Specifically, you can see her improved jawline, jowl, and cheek areas. She has a good neck angle and the loose skin has been removed for an overall improvement in her neck. The skin creases about her cheeks are improved dramatically.
Age: 47 Neck Lift
This woman desired a “cleaner looking” neck. She has a difficult neck to obtain a dramatic difference because of her underlying anatomy. She wanted the most improvement with the least amount of surgery. She had fullness to the area immediately beneath her chin, so we performed a limited anterior neck lift through a small incision (placed in the crease beneath her chin). We removed fat above and below her neck muscle, as well as shaved some of the existing excess muscle. There is a very significant improvement.
Age: 54 Neck Liposuction
This woman underwent a liposuction of the anterior portion of her neck. We discussed alternatives at length and came to the conclusion that she wasn’t quite ready for a full open neck lift, but would benefit from facial liposuction. She had relatively good skin elasticity and we thought that her skin would retract fairly well (although with some minor imperfections). She is very pleased with her result.
