Breast Lift/Mastopexy
Age 37: Breast Lift/Mastopexy
This is a 37 year old mother of two, 5’7” and 155 pounds who was interested in a breast enhancement. Her breasts fell after her kids. The right breast was larger than the left one.
She is seen here about one year after a breast reduction on the right and a breast lift on the left side. The right side was reduced because it was the larger breast.
Her result was confusing to me because I had thought she had breast implants and that is why her breasts looked so perky. Yet, she has no implants! This result was obtained buy rearranging her tissues alone and moving her nipple-areola complexes to a higher level! She did tell me that she wears a very supportive bra and that at first it was constricting but now she is used to it and she thinks it really helps her.
I’m not sure if she has this wonderful shape because she is lucky and has great tissue or because of her excellent bra use. Typically, after a lift or a reduction without an implant, the breasts always fall and loose superior fullness—apparently not in her case. This is one of those cases that makes an experienced surgeon believe in the power of the bra to shape the breast as well as to maintain its shape over time.

This diabetic woman desired perkier breasts. We performed a straight Mastopexy procedure (reshaping of the breast without tissue removal or an implant). I also contoured some of the excess fat on the side of her breasts with liposuction so they would have a more youthful appearance. She had some “skin breakdown” beneath the right nipple-areola that required healing over several weeks. Please note: Diabetics patients don’t always heal as well. She is very pleased with her result. Her post-operative photos show a dramatic improvement in the shape of her breasts.
