Age: 30 Breast Augmentation
This 5’3″, 94 lb. female was interested in a breast enhancement. We elected to perform a bilateral submuscular breast enhancement with 275cc saline textured implants placed in an incision around her areola. The after photos were taken at five months post-operatively. I continue to advise her about the importance in wearing a very supportive bra to minimize implant malposition. I always recommend choosing a smaller implant size on very thin patients.
Age: 30 Breast Augmentation
This mother of one child who was not pleased with the appearance of her breasts after childbirth. She was distraught that they are not as “perky” or full.
We performed a bilateral breast augmentation with 350cc saline implants (placed beneath the muscle) through a small incision in the crease beneath the breast. After the procedure, she said, “My breast enhancement has increased my self-esteem tremendously and I love to see my figure in the mirror.” She admits, however, that she wonders if she should have chosen a bit larger implant. We feel her new breast size fits her frame perfectly and that larger implants could make her appear matronly, heavier and less perky. In our practice we do experience women who are so thrilled and happy with their new breasts — that they mistakenly think a larger size would make the even happier. In truth, this is not typically the case. A larger size often leads to greater dissatisfaction. (i.e. bigger is not always better!)
Age: 24 Breast Augmentation
This 5’1″, 110 pound woman desired a breast enhancement. We performed a bilateral breast augmentation with 300cc silicone implants placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the breast crease. After her enhancement, she remarked, “This has totally increased my confidence and I don’t feel like a girl anymore! Now I feel like a woman.”
Age: 40 Breast Augmentation
This 5’1″ 110 pound Asian female was interested in a bilateral breast enhancement after her breast deflated from her four children. You can see almost complete collapse of her breasts, loss of volume and the medial position of her nipple-areolar complexes and the very short distance between her nipple and the breast fold.
She was augmented with 375cc silicone implants through an incision beneath the breast. She required frequent and aggressive post operative breast massage in order to achieve this very nice result. I believe that one of the great attributes of breast implants is that they can be used to mold the breast in difficult cases in order to obtain the best outcome. This can help create better breast symmetry when the breasts are asymmetrical without the need to perform other invasive breast procedures that may result in more scarring.
Age: 32 Breast Augmentation
This 5’10″, 130 pound woman was interested in a breast enhancement. We performed a breast augmentation with 400 cc silicone implants through an incision beneath the breast. After the procedure, she was pleased because the enhancement made her figure more proportionate. Note in the photo (with bra) that she is compliant with my recommendation to wear a supportive bra that pushes her breasts “upward and inward.” To maintain great results, patients must understand that gravity wants to move your implants “down and out” over time.
Age: 46 Breast Augmentation
This 46-year-old woman desired a breast enhancement. She had scoliosis and chest wall and breast asymmetries. We performed a breast augmentation with smooth silicone implants, 375cc on the left and 400cc on the right, placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the breast crease. Note the rather dramatic improvement in her appearance by correcting her asymmetries (best observed in the lateral photos). It has been my experience that breast implants do a wonderful job of “smoothing-out” breast or chest wall asymmetries. It’s important that the surgeon recognizes anatomical differences and adjusts their surgical plan to ensure an optimal result.
