Age: 34 Breast Augmentation
This is a 34 year old mother of three who is 129 pounds and 5’3” who wanted a breast enhancement. Nervous and quiet initially, she relaxed and enthusiastically told me that she used to have “higher, tighter, and perkier” breasts, but they have fallen.
On examination, she looked “top heavy” but I suspected this was because of the shape of her breasts. She has some sagginess of her breasts with a loss of superior fullness and a lot of lateral breast fullness that extended under her arms on both sides. Her breast essentially appeared wide and low and this made her look “frumpy.”
I felt that an augmentation with tissue removal along the sides of the breast as well as liposuction of the fat under her arms would help create a perky, narrower, more “lifted” appearing breast.
She is seen here five weeks after a bilateral breast augmentation with 325cc high profile saline implants placed below the muscle and tissue removal of about 25 grams along the side of the breast as well as 350cc of liposuction under her arms. Look at the remarkable difference; the breasts are narrower, lifted, and more shapely! Look where her moles are for reference. Look at the side views to really appreciate how I was able to “clean up” her lateral breast/underarm fullness.
This case illustrates that there can be “clever” ways of managing a breast. Not all breasts need a lift, and not all simply need an implant. There are circumstances where some “tricks” can be performed to obtain the best result. A breast augmentation alone would have made for a larger, fuller, and wider breast that may have been “better” than what she started with, but certainly would not have achieved the result seen here.
Age: 41 Breast Augmentation
This 5’4,” 130 pound patient had a bilateral breast enlargement with 325cc silicone implants placed under the muscle through an incision in the breast crease. She is an ideal candidate for an augmentation because she has no ptosis, thick skin, and a relatively symmetrical chest wall shape. She has been using a very supportive, well-fitted bra to ensure excellent long term results.
Age: 39 Breast Augmentation
This is a 5’1″ 131 pound mother of two who was interested in enhancing her breasts. She had a Mastopexy (breast lift) procedure performed in the past elsewhere and was interested in further improvements. She said her breast skin felt loose, she had no superior fullness, and her right breast was larger than her left.
We discussed options including a revision of her Mastopexy as well as a Mastopexy with an augmentation or an augmentation alone. She preferred just an augmentation alone, understanding that there may still be loose breast skin and a lift may be desired.
She is seen here about six months after a bilateral breast augmentation with 325cc high profile silicone breast implants. I also reduced some breast tissue on the lower part of the right breast to improve symmetry.
We have achieved breast symmetry and superior fullness as well as a tightening of the breast skin with implants alone. Although a Mastopexy is a very good procedure that improves the shape of the breast, it oftentimes falls short compared to a Mastopexy with an augmentation as the benefit of the implant for fullness (particularly superiorly) is well appreciated.
Age: 22 Breast Augmentation
This woman wanted a breast enhancement. We performed a submuscular breast augmentation with 300cc silicone implants through an incision placed in the crease below the breast.
Age: 23 Breast Augmentation
This patient is 5’3″ tall and weighs 114 pounds. We performed a bilateral silicone breast enhancement with 325cc implants placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the crease beneath the breast. She is seen her one year from her enhancement.
Is this the same person? Sure is. She lost 20 pounds after breaking up with her boyfriend and then gained it all back during the year (I was not aware of this issue at the time of her original enhancement).
Because her breasts sit high on her chest wall it was critical to choose a relatively modest sized implant or it would look strange and her implants would bottom out because there would not be enough room for them in the limited space of her upper chest. It’s also impressive to see the impact of the weight change. Sometimes you can actually be too thin.

This female patient is 5’8″ and 148 pounds. We performed a bilateral submuscular 400cc silicone breast enhancement though an incision beneath the breast. She is an ideal candidate who enjoys a wonderful result.
