Age: 30 Breast Augmentation
This female patient came to my office for a breast augmentation. She requested perkier breasts, but specifically wanted them high and firm. She actually did not want natural movement. Therefore, we placed 350 cc textured implants below the muscle (through an inframammary incision). We used textured implants because they produce a more “stuck on” result – they are clearly not as mobile as smooth implants would be. In addition, we advised limited post-operative massage so that her final result would be firmer.

Age: 29 Breast Augmentation
This is a 29 year old who is 5’ and 105 pounds was interested in a breast enhancement. She told me that she didn’t want any scars on her breasts. On examination of her pre-operative photos, you can see that her right breast is larger, her breasts sag quite a bit, and there is more lateral breast fullness on the right side (making the shape a bit different).
We discussed options at length. We decided on a subglandular (or above the muscle) augmentation with smooth, round, high profile silicone implants (200cc on the right and 225cc on the left) with a 25 gram tissue reduction on the lateral aspect of the right breast.
In her post-operative photographs, you can see that there is greater symmetry between her breasts and that they appear perkier and more youthful. This was all achieved by choosing the right pocket, implant type, and tissue removal.
It is not uncommon for patients who swear off incisions related to a breast lift to have a change of mind after the first procedure to enhance their breasts (when no lift incisions are made). This is probably because they come to appreciate the tremendous benefits from breast enhancement alternatives, and they realize their fear of incisions is overblown.

This is a patient who is 5’11″ and 120 pounds and interested in a breast enhancement. She made it very clear that she wants small implants. She is seen here after a bilateral breast augmentation with 200cc smooth silicone implants placed beneath the muscle from an incision below the breast.
She is an ideal candidate in many ways. She is choosing a moderate size which means I have to worry less about the implants stretching her tissues. She has symmetrical breasts and relatively flat ribs below. She measures a 32D which seems large compared to what she appears but when women are professionally sized they are almost always found to be wearing the incorrect size.
She is very pleased with her results and has enjoys the size she chose. She did say, however, that she has had to learn how to sleep on her side because she no longer feels comfortable sleeping on her stomach. She also has modified her exercise routine a bit because some upper body regimens put “too much strain on my breasts.” Both these issues should improve with time as she is only four months out from her procedure.
