Age: 31 Breast Augmentation

This woman was interested in a breast enhancement. She has the following asymmetries:

  • Breast and rib differences (75cc difference in the size of her breasts)
  • Pectus Excavatum (chest wall is “sunken in” between her breasts)
  • Scoliosis (curvature of the spine)

We performed a breast augmentation with silicone implants (450cc on the right and 375cc on the left). The incision was placed in the crease. There is a remarkable improvement in her appearance, even though we expected to have continued asymmetries after her augmentation. She is very pleased with her results.

Age: 29 Breast Augmentation

This woman has several children. Her breasts “fell” after her pregnancies. She has significant drooping, loss of superior fullness and very dense breast tissue. We discussed many options including a breast lift (mastopexy) and augmentation, but she was worried about the scars. We elected to perform a SUBGLANDULAR breast augmentation with relatively large implants (375cc) as a compromise until she felt she needed a lifting procedure.

If I elected to place her implants below the muscle, her breast tissue would hang off her implants. Therefore, I placed the implants ABOVE the muscle and chose a larger sized implant. This not only provides for more lift, but the implant could also fall with the breast and fill out the lower portion. This may be all she needs, but we anticipate that her breasts will continue to drop over time and eventually she will need a formal lift (mastopexy) and relocation of the implants below the muscle.

Age: 23 Breast Augmentation

This athletic woman desired a breast enhancement. We performed a breast augmentation with 350cc silicone implants, placed in the submuscular position, through an incision under the breast (in the natural crease).

Age: 37 Breast Augmentation

This athletic mother of three had deflated, asymmetrical breasts. We performed a breast augmentation with 375cc silicone implants. The implants were placed beneath the muscle (through an incision under the breast). She required vigorous post-operative massage in order to achieve her symmetrical results. Note how the implants created beautiful breasts from almost nothing. They are soft to the touch and natural in appearance. She is very pleased with her results.

Age: 40 Breast Augmentation

This mother of seven desired breast enhancement. She previously had an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). She is an excellent example of a patient with deflated breasts and breast ptosis.

We discussed the multiple options available in her particular case:

  • She could choose a larger implant and would enjoy a significant improvement in her breast appearance. However, larger implants don’t “fit” all patients, and are associated with more issues especially in thin patients with very little breast tissue.
  • She could select a smaller implant, but she will almost certainly need a breast lift in addition.

She decided on the larger size implant even though there could be a risk of complications. We performed a bilateral augmentation with 400cc silicone implants placed through and inframammary incision. She was fortunate that the larger implant fit her very well and she did not look too large, overdone or artificial. She is very happy with her results and she has been wearing a supportive bra. Note her improved appearance albeit imperfect results. She could always elect to have a mastopexy (breast lift) in the future.

Age: 37 Breast Augmentation

This female patient felt that her breasts changed considerably after childbirth and weight loss. She had significant ptosis, loss of superior fullness and a general downward slope to her breasts. We discussed the options of a breast lift and implants, but we thought that implants alone (of moderate size) would provide her with a very satisfactory result. Therefore, we placed 350cc silicone implants in the submuscular position through an incision under the breast. A breast lift or “mastopexy” could always be performed in the future if desired.
