Age: 34 Breast Augmentation
This is a 34 year old mother of one, 5’10” and 110 pounds before and after a breast augmentation with 275cc silicone implants placed below the muscle through an incision in the breast crease at the bottom of the breast.
Adjustments were made to the implant pockets at the time of her surgery to compensate for her significant breast difference. There has been a very nice improvement without the need for a mastopexy or breast lift of the saggy left breast.
Age: 32 Breast Augmentation
This woman was interested in a breast augmentation. She had 400cc saline implants placed under the muscle through a small incision beneath the breast.
Breast Augmentation
This is a breast augmentation patient who is two years out from her procedure. She was enhanced with 275cc silicone implants placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the crease beneath the breast. The arrow shows the scar beneath the breast. This is quite typical of an inframammary scar. They heal and hide well if placed accurately at the time of the procedure. The inframammary incision is the most favored one by surgeons as it provides the most control of the procedure and when it comes time to replace or adjust your implants there is no better incision. You need to think in the future when you consider other incisions.
It’s important to remember that the incision for silicone implants is larger than saline. This is because the silicone implants are pre filled and are not adjustable where the saline implants are just silicone shells that are filled with salt water and are adjustable to some degree. If you are choosing saline implants there is no incision to consider other than the inframammary because the incision length is the size of your fingertip and it heals so well and offers patients the benefits of the best incision to make the best breast and then to “service” it afterwards! Why in the world would you want an incision in your belly button or your armpit if you are considering saline implants? You really need to give this some thought.
Age: 45 Breast Augmentation
This is a 45 year old mother of two who is 5’7″ and 118 pounds who was interested in a breast enhancement. I felt she was an ideal candidate for a moderate augmentation. She has nicely shaped breasts that are symmetrical. She simply needed a small implant to fill her breasts out so they look perkier. I like small to moderate in her case because I don’t want the implant to overwhelm her breasts or her figure. Too much stretching of the breast tissue and skin results in thinning of the tissue and less than the ideal “feel ability” test.
She is seen here after a breast augmentation with the placement of 250cc moderate profile silicone implants below the muscle from an incision in the breast fold. In a professionally fit bra, she would be a 30DD or a 32D. Remember, the “new” C is a DD when professionally measured.
Age: 25 Breast Augmentation
This patient was interested in a breast enhancement. She had relatively small breasts and preferred larger implants (even though I tried to convince her to choose a smaller size). She has done well with her implants because she is wearing the appropriate bra for excellent support. She has 400cc silicone implants placed below the muscle from an incision in the natural breast crease.
Age: 38 Breast Augmentation
This mother of two children was interested in a breast enhancement. Although she had ptotic (sagging) breasts and a long upper chest and a wide separation of her breasts, I elected to perform a submuscular augmentation with 375cc silicone implants. The incision was placed in the crease below the breast. She required several visits to our office after her procedure for massage of her breasts (in order to obtain the best shape). She is happy with her result, although wishes she would have gone with a larger implant. We discussed a possible mastopexy (breast lift) in the future.
Age: 57 Breast Augmentation
This Asian woman desired a breast enhancement. I elected to perform a bilateral breast augmentation by placing 375cc implants through an incision in the crease under the breast. Because of her very thick skin and chest muscle, I placed the implants in the subglandular (above the muscle) position to obtain the most natural results.
