Founder and surgeon of Westlake Plastic Surgery, Dr. Robert Caridi, M.D., F.A.C.S., has established his practice based on strong and current surgical skills, patient rapport, high quality service, and emphasis on professionalism and mutual respect.
"My goal at Westlake Plastic Surgery is to connect with my patients in such a way that they see me as a well trained, personable physician who provides excellent cosmetic and plastic surgery services. I am open, frank and honest with my patients." Dr. Caridi believes that each individual has unique needs. He gets to know each of his patients in order to understand their expectations and effectively communicate the benefits and risks of the surgery they are considering. "A physician must have the ability to build rapport with patients. Trust and confidence are important in choosing your doctor. I take great pride in fostering an atmosphere that demystifies plastic surgery and puts my patients at ease, thereby allowing them to explore plastic surgery options in an open and honest forum." The youngest of five children, Dr. Bob Caridi (at left in white t-shirt) comes from humble beginnings in Brooklyn, New York, where he enjoyed playing street hockey and fishing off Sheepshead Bay. At the young age of 13, Dr. Bob lost his father and his carefree childhood. He quickly matured into a responsible and dependable man who understands the importance of living life to its fullest.
Dr. Caridi married his wife and Wisconsin native, Dana, in 1990 on ABC's "Good Morning America". The popular morning show chose Dana and Bob to follow through the trials and tribulations of the wedding process. Bob and Dana were the first couple to be involved in (what has now become a national obsession) called Reality TV. Good Morning America continues to broadcast updates on their original couple and their prototype American family. After completing his residency at New York's prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Caridi practiced in the Chicago area for eight years in a group practice before relocating to Austin in 2000. Dr. Caridi states, "I felt personally and professionally limited in a group practice. My wife and I love Austin, its milder climate, and outdoor activities-so we decided to relocate our family and established Westlake Plastic Surgery." The Caridi family resides in Westlake where their two middle school age daughters attend the Eanes School District. They enjoy boating, swimming, kayaking, bike riding, snow skiing, traveling and their two sibling Chinese Crested dogs. Dr. Caridi is physically active. Being a plastic surgeon can be mentally and physically exhausting, therefore, Dr. Bob exercises regularly to be at the top of his game. He also enjoys yard work and gardening, as well as nature photography. More Photos |
